The first couple of layers are usually sketchy, just so I have some idea of where things will eventually end up. And their color might be just an approximation— the real hue and value of an area come later in the process.
Today I did a lot of work on the right side again; the window curtains, the green shirt, and the chairs. Next time I want to make the wood wall on the left side more luminous.
