Can't Quite Figure Out The Rocks

The rock formation in the right hand quarter of the painting has got me flummoxed. I can't quite figure out where the planes are; where they break, how the light defines the shapes. I did some work on the distant foliage today, and still need to brush in the junipers in the foreground right corner.
