Water Work

If I were going to choose some resolutions for the New Year, one of them would be to become more proficient at watercolor, which I've always found difficult and mystifying. Here's my latest attempt:

I darkened a lot of areas because when watercolor dries, it tends to look very washed out. But I thought the cloud reflections in the water were a little too dramatic, so I scrubbed them back a bit:

Now I'm trying to figure out what else to do with it. Time to move on to the oils for a while.
