Is It A Holiday Or Not?

Three day weekends confuse me. On the Monday holiday, should I be working in the studio or out frolicking in the sunlight in the Virginia countryside?  And is today, Columbus Day, an actual holiday anyway? Is the Post Office open? Are the banks closed?

I've decided to treat it like an ordinary work week day, but I still don't feel like painting. Here is a convivial scene I needed to get back to; I changed the features of the guy on the right and did some brushwork on the outside awning.
