It looks like I've got 7 paintings that are getting close to the finish line. I'm talking about weeks to finish, not months, but still— it's good to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Here's one of them:

And another— there's a lot of small embroidered patterns on the tunic to paint, and that will be time consuming, though:

In the meantime, I worked on this last night. One of the things I like best about it is the brownstones in the foreground. Some of them have green trim, some have black or grey. I love the way the light changes the color of the bricks on the different planes of the buildings:

And, to fill out the week, I tried to get a better sense of the way the light falls on the faces at the table. Did not succeed.

All in all, a good week. I was able to work on 15 of the 16 paintings that are currently works in progress; the background on The Hand Of The Artist is taking a long time to dry. I'll pick up on that one next week.
