The storm did materialize, and it was or is a doozy; the lights flickered and went out a couple of times but came right back on again, and I was able to get dinner on the table before anything more substantial happened. Usually a tree comes down and crashes through the utility wires, and we can be stuck for days without power. So I try to charge up my cell phone and computer(s) in advance.
Anyway, so far, so good; after dinner I worked on the foreground detail on the sunflowers painting, adding a lot of dark shadow areas and stems.
