Reading "Pre-Rapahaelites In Love" has inspired me to do better. (This in a world where airbrushed, appropriated comic pop art fetches $400,000 a piece.) When I look at the extraordinary hair of the model in Millais' "Mariana" I feel shamed; so I went back into this very long-worked painting and tightened up the hair on one of the women seated at the table. Also determined that some of the drawing was way off; the woman in the blue sweater had an unnaturally long arm, and the head of the guy across from her is too small. Much work to do, as always.
