Disrupting The Flow

I don't live alone, and when I'm in the thick of painting, if someone suddenly shows up at the studio door, it startles me. It's kind of like waking a sleepwalker, and I get rattled enough that I start to make bad decisions in the work, mix up the wrong colors, paint over places that had been working very well, etc.

So I've had to wipe off nearly everything I did this afternoon on the right side of this painting. Now it's just a mushy blur.
