Sometimes I put a failed painting away for a while. It might be months or ears before I pull it out again, and when I do the flaws are usually obvious. This one has been a problem for a long time. I'm having to take a more impressionistic approach to it, but I think that's working; what's bogged me down in the past is the structure of the Siberian irises and the daffodils. Today I concentrated on the snapdragons and sunflowers. Once it's dry, I'll get to those other two areas.
