On The Way

On The Way is the title of a painting I finished last year or maybe the year before, but I've never felt quite right about the way it turned out. The sky wasn't really very dramatic, and that was what the story was supposed to be about. So I've repainted it, and it looks better.

I also tackled Rita's again. Am dismayed to realize that the vertical lines that separate the boards are dark, yes; but there is also a lighter line just to the right of each one where they catch the light. So much more to do on this one! But I got the background started, at least— street lights and signs.

And yesterday I spent a lot of time placing tiny highlight dots on each of the red berries.
