When something's not working, sometimes it's wiser to start over than to keep pushing in the same direction. The poplar was just not working, and I've been exposed to too many exceptional paintings over the last few weeks to keep flogging it. So I'm transforming it into a different painting altogether, hoping to learn something as I go, and maybe the poplar will morph into a white birch along the way.
