Somerville Roses, © 2020, work in progress (click on image for larger view)
This is a blog about painting: specifically, representational fine art, generally, using oil paint. I think a lot about what I'm doing, and those thoughts about subject matter, technique, influences, frustrations and delights all show up here. It's all about the journey.

Resurrecting An Oldie
How many years ago did I start this? I still love the idea— I want to have roses falling all over each other, cascading down on an angle— but I'm still struggling with color. I remember these roses as being pink-tinged, but the flower at left, the peachy one, is pretty gorgeous. Also, I added some smaller red roses but the color is way off and will have to be adjusted. But this was a fun working session. Back to the harder stuff tomorrow.
