I've been reading the excellent history of the women of the Abstract Expressionist movement, Ninth Street Women, and it seems to be affecting my brush strokes. They're looser on the painting below. I'm not quite sure what's going on.

Or maybe it's the weather? The extended dark, overcast raininess might be the reason I dampened the luminous yellow on the curtains in favor of grey. I will have to get it back again.
Also— for reasons unknown— I sat down to this piece this morning and obliterated the pinkish tone of the plate, then panicked, then looked at it from across the room and decided it was fine.
